I have lived with a passion to work in the fashion industry from middle school. I loved to draw my own fashion illustrations, and dream of one day watching my own line parade down a catwalk. Unfortunately, I let my insecurities, and fears overwhelm my desire. Now, in my 40's, I am trying to make that dream come true. I love pattern and color, I love the way a piece of clothing can create a dream...in fact for most of our most important life moments, their is a signature look that helps define it. From the mortar board cap and gown of graduation, the pristine white of a wedding dress, and the grooms tuxedo...even the somber black of a funeral all become part and parcel of a moment in our lives. Many times it's harder for a women who doesn't perfectly fit the 5/7/9 or more likely the 0/2/4 sizing of the fashion world. I want to create clothing that makes women feel Fierce, fabulous, and beloved. So they know that there is a heart, and a thoughtful mind behind the design. Many fashionable plus-sized clothing stores don't always remember us “shorties” (yes short and plus-sized) who have a hard time finding clothes (without sending it directly to a tailor). This is a sort of diary that I will be keeping (hopefully updating often) to share my experiences, what I've learned, and lots of photos to capture my development as I aspire to meet all my personal goals.
